The UAE capital hosts the second Medication Safety Conference on April 18th and 19th at Al Ain Rotana. The conference is aimed at addressing the challenges of medications safety in the region and will explore the topic related to healthcare institutional frameworks and legislative requirements.
Lecturing at the conference are ASMSO members: Christian Hartman, PharmD, Deb Saine, MS, Nicole Mollenkopf, PharmD, and Adeline Saliba, PharmD, MBA.
The two day scientific program focuses on identifying, designing and evaluating practices that eliminate or mitigate the effects of medication error, and system-related risks and hazards. Issues will be covered from multiple perspectives including those of the patient, the physician and the health authorities. Both international and national perspectives will be presented with a strong focus on remedial action and best practice measures.
“This is one of the few programs in the Middle East that offers the opportunity to enhance awareness of safe medication practices and standard,” said Dr. Sahar Abu-Omar, chair of SEHA Medication Safety Group.
