NQF Seeking Nominations for SREs and Healthcare Acquired Conditions

The National Quality Forum (NQF) is embarking on a new project to further define healthcare acquired conditions (HACs) and then develop an expanded listing of HACs relevant for environments of patient care beyond hospital settings; in addition the NQF-endorsed list of Serious Reportable Events will also be reviewed and updated for 2010. NQF has a call for nominations to the following bodies:
-Steering Committee-this will be comprised of 20 individuals, representing a full range of stakeholder perspectives (consumers, purchasers, QI professionals, healthcare system professionals, etc.)
-Four Technical Advisory Panels-these will be comprised of 12-15 individuals and will be concentrated in 4 areas: 1) Ambulatory care; 2) Inpatient Hospital; 3) Skilled Nursing facilities; and 3) Home health and Hospice settings
